Tele-Teaching through Teleradiology: a Tele-Teaching Module that includes double reading of 75 exams performed by yourself at your institution.

The following is a description of the Module:
a. A booklet giving an introduction to virtual colonoscopy with a focus on the practical aspects of virtual colonoscopy.
b. The participants receive 10 virtual colonoscopy data sets with basic pathology (validated by optical colonoscopy) to practice and to obtain the basic experience. Information of the findings is given per case.
c. Package of 75 examinations, which frequently is considered as the minimum set of examinations necessary to acquire a reliable level of experience in CTC.
The novice radiologist performs the 75 CTC examinations in his department.
The examinations can be send through the net (see Send Your Exams in the menu).
VCTC gives advice and remarks concerning the practical aspects of each examination. This enables the novice to gradually learn the state-of-the-art technique of CTC.
The novice radiologist interprets the examination. VCTC performs a second reading and of course gives advise concerning the findings: What to do with a lesion? (Routine screening ? Surveillance? Removal? How to avoid false positives and negatives ?). This avoids the need to validate each CTC by an optical colonoscopy in the learning period.
d. Test.
Once the 75 examinations have been performed, the radiologist receives a set of 25 CTC examinations (validated by optical colonoscopy) to examine and to test himself. The purpose is to obtain a sensitivity of 80 % for lesions > 6 mm. After this an evaluation is performed. If positive a certificate is given. If negative, further training is performed.
e. Included in this module is free access to our web-based course.
